The Jonagold apple has a balanced blend of both its parents’ flavors offering the sweet-tart taste found in the Jonathan and the aromatic honey like scent of the Golden Delicious.
The coloring is yellow of Golden Delicious, with large flushes of red.
This is a crisp apple to bite into, with gleaming white flesh.
The flavor is sweet but with a lot of balancing acidity - a very pleasant apple.

Glen Hill Orchard

 The Bogardus Family established what is now Glen Hill Orchard as, appropriately enough, Bogardus Orchard, on the hills comprising the Kokosing Gap southeast of Mount Vernon in 1912.  The orchard was instrumental in Ohio apple variety breeding and promotion of "hand-fruit" apples in the state as well. Today Glen Hill has 22 varieties of apples, and grows peaches, Asian pears, sweet and tart cherries as well.
